    Gc @ jjk

Not a bad game for a quarter. JJK actually led at the end of the first, GC just wore them down. GC's bench is much deeper than JJK's and it showed as the game progressed. GC was much more aggressive and JJK was just killed on the boards, specifically offensive. GC would just beat JJK down the floor and shoot til they made it at times. GC's not as good as they have been in the past, teams better get them this year.

    Re: Gc @ jjk

This game brought out several coaches from across the Region to scout the teams.

Gate City played their signature style of basketball - aggressive, high pressure defense in a fast paced game. Vermillion and staff have often been criticized for their "take no prisoners" and "show no mercy" approach to the game, but you can't argue with their success in the Region. After Kelly took an early lead, the Devils quickly took over the game and opened up a 20 point lead. The Indians showed some fire in the third quarter to cut the lead to 10. Blue Devils take over again in the 4th. Gate City wins by 27 pts.

This Blue Devils team is not the best team Gate City has put on the court in recent years, but they should do well in the Region and make the CMD very competitive. The Indians lost a ton of talent to graduation and have a lot of work to do throughout the season, but I was impressed with their resiliency against a much stronger team.
